Jangl Debuts New Application on Facebook® Platform, Connecting the Web and Phone for 24 Million Active Members

Jangl Lets Friends Stay Connected with Private Numbers at Sixth-Most Trafficked Website in the U.S.

Jangl, Inc., the company bridging the web and the phone, today debuted its Jangl application on the new Facebook Platform, bringing calling and texting capability to the site’s more than 24 million active users. Facebook is the sixth-most trafficked website in the U.S.

With the Jangl application, Facebook members can talk on the phone without running the risks associated with swapping personal numbers.

Jangl gives anyone online a simple and easy-to-use way to let people initiate phone connections with them, while preserving the anonymity and privacy of both the caller and the callee. With just a few keystrokes, the Jangl application generates a private phone number enabling people to connect with their Facebook friends over any phone, without exchanging their true phone number.

Moreover, Facebook members who take advantage of the Jangl application will be automatically eligible to use Jangl’s new, easy-to-use service that lets consumers call anyone with an email address, anywhere in the world. With yesterday’s debut of its new service, Jangl gives everyone – from social network friends and IM buddies, to auction or classifieds buyers and sellers, to bloggers, indie media, and their audiences – a more flexible, safe, manageable, and inexpensive way to talk by phone. The new Jangl service, now available in 32 countries, is the first to connect people online to people on their phones, without the need for headsets, downloads, or installations.

“For the last year, Jangl has been giving social networks a voice through our widgets and partnered products. And, with our latest release of Jangl yesterday, people online can now connect with anyone, anywhere by simply entering an email address,” said Michael Cerda, CEO and co-founder, Jangl, Inc.

Facebook Platform, announced today at Facebook’s F8 event in San Francisco, enables companies and developers to build applications for the Facebook website.
