Statement on employees returned from Iran
Nokia Siemens Networks is pleased to confirm that its three employees are now back in Dubai after being briefly detained by Iran while on a fishing trip. The men, all Finnish citizens, were staying on the island of Abu Musa in the Persian Gulf and then returned to Dubai by boat early in the afternoon of Saturday, June 9, 2007. Their return was slightly later than planned given poor weather conditions in the region.
All three men say they were treated well, and have asked that their thanks be passed along to the governments of Iran and Finland for the quick resolution of the issue. Nokia Siemens Networks again thanks both governments for resolving this issue through the appropriate government-to-government channels.
The men have asked that the company not disclose their names or personal details. Nokia Siemens Networks will honor that request.
