SAMSUNG Electronics Sponsored ABU DTV Symposium

Samsung Electronics participated in Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union DTV symposium in Malaysia from October 3-5. As the principle sponsor from the consumer electronics industry, the company again proved its technology leadership.
The symposium was the first event hosted by ABU, and aimed to promote DTV broadcasting. More than 300 participants, including CEOs, executives and experts from major global broadcasters such as UK’s BBC, Korea’s KBS and Japan’s Fuji TV, attended the venue and participated in broad range discussions about forming associations for the development of DTV network and issues in each market. Samsung Electronics sponsored the symposium as the DTV manufacturer worldwide.

During the event, Samsung led presentations concerning the future development of DTV industry, and organized diverse discussions with renowned experts in the broadcasting sector. The company also had the opportunity to show its DTV products like PDP and LCD, having its technology leadership and brand power recognized by the major players in the broadcasting industry. Vice President Sang Heung Shin of Visual Display Division said, “It was meaningful to officially sponsor a global symposium that discussed the future of digital TV.
