Sat-TV Puts Satellite Sector In The Spotlight With Successful Launch At CommunicAsia In Singapore

Exclusive new global TV service opens with major industry figure interviews and CASBAA conference debut

SatTV – the TV news arm of the Satellite Evolution Group - the leading Satellite industry publishing organisation, made a highly successful debut at CommunicAsia in Singapore last week, with a series of interviews from some of the leading names across the sector.

SatTV – which also attended the nearby Cable and Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (CASBAA) – was being globally launched following a highly successful trial on the Satellite Evolution website and at previous exhibitions over the past year.

“There has been a phenomenal demand for this service ever since we first trialled SatTV and CommunicAsia was stunning. In the end, we just ran out of time to talk to the companies and the people that wanted to meet SatTV for the first time,” said DS Air Publisher Richard Hooper.

“We always felt it was a natural progression for an industry which has given so much towards the spread of television that it should have its own TV service for its own news and views and I’m very proud that it is DS Air that has moved forward and delivered”.

Among leading figures interviewed were CASBAA CEO Simon Twiston Davies, inmarsat President and COO Michael Butler, MEASAT COO Paul Brown-Kenyon, and Thuraya CEO Yousef Abdulla Al Sayed. Other companies also interviewed were SWE-DISH, Newtec, iDirect, ND Satcom, Hughes, AAE Systems and ST Electronics.

SatTV is available 24 hours day on the DS Air website - www.satellite-evolution.com - where the CommunicAsia coverage can be viewed.

“Our vision is to keep SatTV as close to the industry as possible and as well as providing news we will be looking to develop packages to help companies raise their profile and use the power of TV to boost their own marketing capability,” added Mr Hooper.

Satellite Evolution Group is part of DS Air Publications, which is a multimedia information and marketing platform for the global satellite industry. Its portfolio of publications includes a web portal, html newsletters, magazines, yearbooks and CD-ROMs. Its leading publications include Satellite Evolution Asia, Satellite Evolution EMEA and Satellite Evolution Global - now established as the defining voice of the industry worldwide.
