DCT announces $3000.00 electric car

DCT announces $3000.00 electric car, with first market to be India, using novel technologies to provide dramatic cost reduction.

Device Conduit Technologies Announced today that it was seeking distribution partners for an electric car, known as the “XP-LIGHT2”™ that starts at $3000.00 FOB San Francisco. DCT developed the car as a possible entry in the Automotive X-Prize, for which it is seeking co-participants.

The vehicle employs a novel frame design, a novel body technology, a novel power plant and a highly efficient set of hub-based mini-motors in a configuration designed for mass production. Factory resources for most of the volume effort have been established and final roll-out will be based on detail configuration requirements of master-distributors in each market. DCT does not currently plan to sell the vehicle direct to public. All sales will be through authorized distributors. DCT has offered to the drive the vehicle off a (medium sized) cliff to demonstrate the safety of the vehicle protective shell.
