eIndia2007 to focus on e-Governance and Digital Learning, 1200 experts to take part
New Delhi , July 8, 2007 About 1200 experts from more than 40 countries will take part in the four day Information Communication Technologies (ICT) conference ‘eIndia2007′ to begin in New Delhi on July 31-August 3, 2007.
The ‘eIndia2007′ is jointly being organized by Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology along with Centre for Science Development and Media Studies (CSDMS) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Information Technology experts, educationists, professionals from Development sector and government officials will take part in the conference to discuss common challenges and extraordinary solutions, ideas and operating approaches towards digital divide and identify and explore the opportunities for Digital India.
“Conference with seven themes including eGovernance, Digital Learning, telecentre Forum, eHealth, Mobile Serve, Community Radio and eAgriculture will have about 300 eminent speakers to help delegates take stock, synthesize, design and drive the digital com petence in the knowledge society in a more professional manner” said Mr Ravi Gupta, Dircetor, CSDMS.
” Apart from discussing ways and means to leverage the capabilities of ICT to promote good governance across the country, the delegates will also focus on Digital Learning to achive ‘Education for All’ goal as technologies have a major role to play for spreading education” he added.
The other major highlights of the conference will be an exhibition of ICT technologies by global It companies including Intel, HP, Telecentre, Educomp, Hughes, 3iInfotech and CA. A film festival on ICT for development will be another highlight of the conference.
