Alcatel-Lucent and LGS win spot as subcontrctor on the Qwest Networx Team
Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) and LGS, Alcatel-Lucent’s subsidiary dedicated to serving the U.S. Government community, today announced they are a part of the team led by Qwest Communications International Inc., which was awarded a stake in the Networx Universal contract earlier this year.
Alcatel-Lucent will work through its LGS subsidiary to provide a variety of solutions and services that support Qwest’s role to deliver leading-edge network, data/IP, security and communications services to any level of government customers.
The Networx program, announced at the end of March by the General Services Administration (GSA), is the largest communications services contract in the world and is valued at more than $20 billion over the next 10 years.
As part of the U.S. government contract, Qwest and its team members offers leading-edge voice, data and video services, including managed and secure advanced data networks, to federal agencies nationwide
“We are pleased to be part of the Qwest team that has been chosen as one of the most robust, tier-one services providers to the government,” said Ron Iverson, CEO, LGS. “Our history of innovation through Bell Labs together with Qwest and its long history of serving government customers is a powerful combination.”
