Pageflakes Inc. (www.pageflakes.com), the community personalized homepage, today announced media partnerships with major U.S. and international media outlets. The announcement, made in conjunction with its major new “Blizzard” release, includes partners from all forms of traditional and online media, including television, newspapers, magazines, radio, and the web. The deals include branded media Pagecasts and Flakes, which will be promoted jointly by Pageflakes and its partners.

Pageflakes has long been at the forefront of the convergence of personalization and social media, being the first and only company to introduce Pagecasting. A Pagecast is a personalized page anyone can easily create at Pageflakes using Flakes (widgets) and then share it with a group of friends or with the entire world. A Pagecast can contain Flakes for news, RSS feeds, blogs, photos, video, podcasts, and more. While 120,000 Pagecasts have been created by individuals, schools and businesses to date, this announcement marks the first time that recognized worldwide media brands are leveraging the Pageflakes platform to reach existing and new audiences in an entirely new way.

“We’re thrilled to work with major partners that recognize the rapidly changing nature of the Internet, in which personalization is at the heart of a new generation of web media experiences,” said Dan Cohen, CEO of Pageflakes. “By embracing the Pageflakes platform, our partners are now offering Pagecasts in which anyone on the web can combine their favorite print and broadcast content with new forms of media such as user-generated content and social networking. The result is unique, compelling, and above all, lots of fun.”

“We’re excited to be working with Pageflakes to offer Pagecasts for our most popular television programs, including Entertainment Tonight and The Insider,” said Chris Rooke, Senior Vice President of Interactive Media for CBS Television Distribution. “With our Pageflakes Pagecasts, we can reach and interact with our viewers in a whole new way on the web, combining video, music, photos, news, and more in an engaging personalized page dedicated to each show.”

“Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive has always been at the forefront of exploring new ways to expand the reach of our top-quality news and information sites on the Web,” said Caroline Little, CEO, Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive. “With Pageflakes, we can utilize Pagecasting and the power of social media to create a fresh and engaging way for consumers to interact with our news brands.”

Dr. Jens Müffelmann, Head of Electronic Media at Axel Springer said, “Together with Pageflakes, we’re producing both Pagecasts and Flakes that extend the reach of popular titles and sites such as Die Welt, Bild, and Computer Bild. Our readers and users are increasingly more sophisticated and specific with their tastes and attention, and Pageflakes allows us to deliver the highly interactive and personalized experience they expect.”
