Airtel Introduces India to ‘Free Broadband’ with the Freedom 550 Plan
Airtel Broadband & Telephone Services (Airtel B&TS), India’s largest private broadband and telephone service provider, today announced the launch of the ‘Freedom 550’ Plan, which is a fixed line plan with a bundled offer of a ‘free broadband’ connection.
The ‘Freedom 550’ plan comes with a ‘free broadband’ internet connection at a speed of upto 512 kbps with a free download limit of 550 MB per month. In addition, the customer will receive free call value of Rs. 550 per month. The ‘Freedom 550’ Plan also offers customers the benefit of true online service with e-bills, e-payment options and online customer care support.
Announcing the launch of the plan, Mr. Atul Bindal, President, Airtel Broadband & Telephone Services said, ““We believe the broadband market in India is ready to take off and we will lead this growth story. Our focus is on increasing broadband uptake with our world-class service, content rich broadband offerings and strategic alliances. With the Freedom 550 Plan, we have become the first ever telecom operator in the country to offer ‘free broadband’ access. With this, and our other initiatives for customers, we are seeking to accelerate the penetration of broadband services in the country.’
