AT&T Earned Top Scores in Scalability, 2007 Strategic Plans, Financials, and Flexibility

AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) today announced that the independent research firm Forrester has rated AT&T one of the industry’s strongest performers and provider of global wide area network (WAN) services.
In its June 2007 Forrester Wave: Global WAN Services Q2 2007 report, Forrester noted that AT&T led all nine major network operators evaluated in the following four categories: Scalability, 2007 strategic plans, flexibility, and financials.

“We continue to work hard at maintaining our position as a leader in global WAN services, and are pleased to be recognized as a leader in The Forrester Wave report,” said Dale McHenry, vice president – AT&T Enterprise Networking. “AT&T remains committed to delivering the most sophisticated and value-added global WAN solutions to companies of all sizes.”

In evaluating AT&T’s current offerings and strategy for global WAN services against 33 criteria, Forrester wrote in the report that “AT&T is a good choice for MNCs that want a common service delivery platform for both US and overseas sites.” The report also stated that AT&T is “a good choice for companies that require their service provider to be a tier-one international telecommunications operator that is financially stable and has a lot of experience providing networking and service support to very large MNCs.”

“AT&T hits leader stride in global WAN Services,” wrote Forrester’s Brownlee Thomas, Ph.D. and an author of the report. “Its strengths include first-in-class regional scalability outside North America as well as its top-tier installed multinational corporation customer base for MPLS and multi-technology WAN services.”
