Telsis Recruits Board Members For Next Growth Phase

Telsis, whose Intelligent SMS Routing technology dominates the global market in next-generation text messaging architecture, has made two key appointments to the board as it prepares for a major development and expansion programme.

Simon Brown, chief executive officer and Pax Andersson, group sales director, join with extensive experience of growing high-technology companies.

Privately held, Telsis is headquartered in the UK and has operations in eight countries. The company was founded 20 years ago and is recognised as a centre of innovation and engineering excellence in network infrastructure for fixed and mobile networks. Telsis invented and was first to market with Intelligent SMS Routing (ISR) – the next generation messaging system that lets operators grow text revenues with unprecedented throughput and advanced applications. Sold globally by distribution partner Ericsson, ISR is the de-facto gold standard for both existing and new-build networks around the world.

Simon Brown has more than 20 years’ experience in sales and operations management in the telecommunications industry. Prior to joining Telsis, Brown was chief executive of Neustar Next Generation Messaging following senior EMEA and APAC roles at Nokia and others.

Pax Andersson was previously general manager of 3-Com EMEA and over his 35-year career has held senior posts at IBM, Network365 and Timeplex.

“This is a very exciting time to join Telsis,” said Brown. “Telsis is a company on strong foundations of engineering excellence, clear-sighted innovation, market-leading solutions and responsiveness to customer needs. My challenge, with Pax and our colleagues on the board, is to drive Telsis forward to even greater things.”

“I am very pleased to welcome Simon and Pax to Telsis,” said chairman Jeff Wilson. “They complete a world-class management team and will help steer the company through its next phase of growth.”

Telsis products are in use with major mobile and fixed network operators worldwide. The company has an extensive range of carrier-grade infrastructure solutions including intelligent SMS and IN platforms, as well as media gateways for NGN and VoIP support. Telsis has a long history of helping operators make money through the introduction of innovative value added services and is now leading the industry in moving SMS to the service layer.
