Sify integrates its Consumer Businesses to leverage synergies across Access and Online Content
Chennai, India, Thursday, August 16th, 2007: Sify Limited (NASDAQ National Markets: SIFY), a leader in consumer Internet and Enterprise Services in India with global delivery capabilities today announced that it has integrated its Portal www.sify.com, i-Way cyber café chain and Sify Broadband to Home services into one single business unit.
Mr. Raju Vegesna, Chairman & CEO, Sify, said, “We are bringing together iWays, broadband to home, and portals to build upon their strengths, and to leverage the synergies possible as an integrated consumer business. This integration is a key step towards growing our consumer businesses, and gaining a larger share of the growing Indian market for the services we offer. This is much like our strategy of integrating our enterprise businesses to offer end-to-end managed services for companies in India and leverage the synergies across these businesses to accelerate growth.”
The newly formed division will have Mr. Naresh Ajwani, President, Consumer Infrastructure & Operations, leading the access initiative across broadband to home and cyber cafes, and Mr. V Sivaramakrishnan, President, Consumer Marketing, heading the online content, e-commerce and marketing initiatives.
With the convergence of media, rapid developments in technology and rapidly evolving consumer needs and trends, the evolution of a single combined offering can positively influence the consumer’s experience of Sify’s services. The results of this integration, and the possibilities that it will open up will be evident over the coming quarters.
