Rain Postpones Nascar Race At Michigan; Woods Prepared

“I’ve woken up a lot of mornings over the years and pretty much knew that it wasn’t going to happen, we weren’t going to race. I’m a weather nut anyway; I love the Weather Channel, that’s one of my favorite channels. I’ve got all of them – Weather Channel, AccuWeather, NOAA, everything in the world – where I can click on it. Everything says ‘rain’ today. Usually – and I’ve got four of them – when three of the four say ‘rain,’ it’s going to rain. Like last weekend at Watkins Glen, for qualifying, two of the four said ‘rain’ on qualifying day, so it was 50-50, and it rained.

“I’ve seen NASCAR pull ’em out. There’s no way we can race, and all of a sudden, the sky breaks up and we go racing. I wouldn’t give up yet, but this doesn’t look very promising. But, you never know. In Atlanta a zillion years ago, it rained Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and it was supposed to rain Sunday. We didn’t get on the race track for, like, 30 minutes on Saturday afternoon, and there was no way we were going to race. We raced.”

CAN ANY WORK GET DONE TODAY? HOW TO KEEP TODAY FROM BEING A TOTAL LOSS? “You need to get your race car ready, and we’ll go through inspection. If they call this thing, then everybody goes back to the hotel and it becomes a day of rest. It’s not a bad thing.”
