Warner Bros. Announces Steve Nickerson’s Departure for New Industry Opportunity
WHV Senior Vice President, Worldwide High Definition, Steve Nickerson has decided to leave the company at the end of September to pursue another opportunity, it was announced today by Mark Horak, EVP & GM, Worldwide Operations & New Packaged Media.
Since joining WHV in 2000, Steve has held the position of SVP, Market Management and Managing Director & General Manager for WHV’s operations in Australia and New Zealand, and SVP – Domestic Sales. Prior to joining WHV, Steve spent 16 years in the consumer electronics industry, mostly with Toshiba in sales and marketing positions. Steve was integral in the launch and success of DVD in the U.S. and also developed and implemented the business plan that enabled Toshiba to become a leader in Projection TVs during the 1990s.
“While it is always hard to leave a company like Warner Bros., this rare opportunity was unexpected, but it is exactly the sort of job that I have long wanted to do, so I did not feel I could let it pass,” said Nickerson. “I am very appreciative of the time that I have spent working at Warner Bros. and am very grateful to have had the opportunity to work with and learn from the many creative and smart people here.”
Steve’s replacement will be named shortly and he has committed to staying on through the month of September to make the transition as seamless as possible.
“It has been my pleasure to work closely with Steve over the past 7 years and all of us at Warner Home Video wish him success in his new career,” said Horak.
