BT placed in leaders quadrant in major services provider analyst report
BT today announced that it has been named to the Leaders Quadrant in the Global Network Services Provider Magic Quadrant by research and analyst firm, Gartner, Inc.(1) According to Gartner, “Leaders have a full portfolio of voice and data products, coupled with above-average service and support, wide global coverage and competitive pricing. They have a strong vision that includes adopting more information and communication technology (ICT) capabilities, which they articulate clearly and openly.”
In its evaluation of network service providers (NSPs), Gartner considers both ability to execute and completeness of vision. Gartner says, “NSPs should have a clear and evolving geographic strategy to meet the changing needs of customers. The portfolio should be broad enough to satisfy the evolving requirements of most enterprises.” In addition, Gartner notes that, “Our emphasis is on service quality, pricing and track record. These elements are particularly important for global networks because the issues of infrastructure, language and cultural problems become more complicated and prolonged.”
Michael Boustridge, president, BT Americas, said: “We see Gartner’s placement of BT in the Leaders Quadrant as further validation that BT has the global scope and vision to provide multinational enterprises with the ICT services they need to succeed in today’s digital networked economy. And with our strong and growing presence in the Americas, we’re better positioned than ever to serve the global needs of U.S.-based multinationals.”
François Barrault, CEO BT Global Services, said: “We see Gartner’s placement of BT in the Leaders Quadrant as further validation that BT has the global scope and vision to provide multinational enterprises with the ICT services they need to succeed in today’s digital networked economy. And with our strong and growing presence on all continents, we’re better positioned than ever to serve the global needs of multinational organisations all over the world.”
BT Counterpane was recently listed in the Leaders Quadrant in Gartner’s North American Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP) report (2). In that report, Gartner noted that, “Each of the service providers in the Leaders quadrant has significant “mind share” among enterprises looking to buy an MSS from pure-play security vendors, and they generally receive positive reports on service and performance from Gartner clients. Vendors in the Leaders quadrant are typically appropriate options for enterprises requiring frequent interaction with the MSSP for analyst expertise and advice, portal-based correlation and workflow support, and flexible reporting options.”
