Next New Networks Launches ViroPop, the First Network for the Green Revolution with Flagship Show ZapRoot
Next New Networks, the leading producer of micro television networks over the Internet, today announced the debut of ViroPop (www.viropop.com), the first-ever Internet network dedicated to the new environmental pop culture.
ViroPop is unique as it approaches being green with a sense of irreverent fun. The network’s flagship show, ZapRoot, is an unconventional weekly news program that covers the fast changing world of the modern Green Revolution and aims to bring the events and news of that sub-culture to a larger audience by using humor tempered by sensible thinking. ZapRoot, hosted by Jessica Williamson and is produced by Damien Somerset and Sarah Szalavitz, encourages viewers to have fun while making a better world with sarcasm, silliness and sanity. The show’s website, http://www.zaproot.com, will have a fully immersive community space where viewers can discuss show topics and interact with each other and the show’s creators.
Next New Networks shows can be seen on a variety of distribution platforms. ZapRoot will be distributed and featured on a variety of platforms including: AOL, iTunes, LiveVideo, MetaCafe, MSN, MySpace, Revver, Veoh, Yahoo, and YouTube.
Other upcoming ZapRoot shows include:
Fold School – Fold School is a DIY site for kids furniture made from old boxes. SexToyRecycling.com is a site where you can turn in your old toys for new ones. A funny interview with Justin Long about the Green movement.
Bees, Plug in Hybrid, Tree Nation – The global bee is dwindling and its effects on food production will be significant. Texas has proposed a $6K tax credit for Plug In Hybrids. Check out TreeNation.com – you buy a tree to be planted in Niger and track its growth on their interactive map.
Dubai World, Vivoleum – Dubai is terraforming an entire island chain, that when viewed from space, appears in the shape of a globe map. Vivoleum is an exciting new fuel made from corpses.
