AGI Worldwide Adds Web Based Retail Distribution and Allocation Module to Warehouse Management System

AGI’s Advanced Allocation Module gives clients the capability to provide real-time and planned distribution, forecast integration, and reserve for both in-stock and anticipated receipts of inventory

AGI Worldwide, provider of the industry’s most innovative software solutions for supply chain execution, introduces their new Web Based Retail Distribution and Allocation Module to help clients further improve operational efficiencies in their warehouse and distribution operations.

Allocation is typically executed between the primary systems supporting the warehouse operations and some type of scanning application. Orders that are downloaded via the scanning application are then available to pick. Orders are downloaded order by order and picked accordingly. Information exchange (usually via email) between the customer service department and the warehouse normally facilitates the process of identifying particular allocation of product. Otherwise, the order is processed if an order is available and there is product to fulfill the order. The customer service department uses a variety of informational screens and inbound reports to govern allocation of product among customers. There are a wide range of decision criteria and variables that make up these decisions.

With AGI’s Advanced Allocation Module, clients can now do the following:
Apply a distribution and reserve for product associated with inbound expected receipts.
Reserve inbound inventory and existing inventory without an order.
Consolidate multi store orders into a summary pick.
Partial ship and then cancel the line for certain customers.
Flag orders to either partial ship or ship complete on an order by order basis.
Backorder short shipped orders accordingly.

“Many of our clients have communicated the need for this solution,” said Tracy Perdue, VP of Sales for AGI Worldwide. “We are extremely proud to be able to give them a fantastic tool that will significantly increase the performance of any Retail Distribution Operation.”

As with all modules in AGI’s series, the solutions are built with AGI’s JAVA J2EE advanced technical architecture. The technology is 100% web-based, multi-platform, multi-language, and database independent. As a result, AGI’s customers receive a flexible, easy to implement solution that provides high initial ROI and the ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements over time.
