BitBand’s Technology Powers Synterra’s Advanced IPTV Services in Russia

BitBand, a leading provider of video delivery solutions for broadband IP networks, announced today that it has been selected to supply its IPTV Video Delivery Solution to the Russian alternative telecommunication operator Synterra. The deployment is led by BCC Company, a leading Russian IT-project company, which implements integrated solutions for telecommunication operators and corporate clients.

Synterra Group, an independent, national telecommunications operator, is licensed for voice services in 22 regions of Russia, and for data and channel lease in all the regions with a market share of over 50% in wholesale IP-transit. Within the new triple play offering, Synterra’s aim is to introduce next generation TV and video services, offering its customers a wide array of entertainment packages. These new IPTV On Demand services based on technology solutions by BitBand will help Synterra to acquire new customers with an enriched offering. BitBand solution will enable Synterra to deliver Catch-up TV, NPVR, Start-over, VOD and other On Demand services, utilizing BitBand’s MaestroTM Content Distribution and Management suite and the VisionTM VOD servers streaming the video content on demand to subscribers.
