New Discounted Verizon Bundles of Voice, TV, High Speed Internet and Wireless Services Now Available in Washington State

Verizon received approval Wednesday (Sept. 19) from the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission to offer discounted bundles of voice, TV, High Speed Internet and wireless services to Washington consumers.

Effective September 21, Verizon customers are eligible to mix and match discounts for a variety of high-value services including what is known as the “quadruple play” – voice, TV, High Speed Internet and wireless.

“We have worked very hard during the past year to change the regulatory regimen for local telephone companies,” said David S. Valdez, the company’s Northwest region senior vice president for public affairs and policy. “Verizon has been at a distinct disadvantage in bundling services that lightly regulated competitors like cable are able to offer at a moment’s notice to meet consumer demand. Finally, we have the tools to take these companies on in the highly competitive marketplace for these services.

“In the end, consumers win because there’s more choice for them,” Valdez said. Under the new offers, customers can order voice and data packages that begin at $59.98 a month for Verizon Freedom Essentials voice service and High Speed Internet (768-kilobits-per-second DSL), to $139.99 per month for those two services plus DIRECTV and 450 monthly minutes of Verizon Wireless service. The plan is also available by calling a Verizon customer service representative at 1-800-483-3000 or by visiting a Verizon Plus Store or Best Buy and Circuit City outlets.
