TCI wins CII Award for “SUPPLY CHAIN EXCELLENCE IN KNOWLEDGE SERVICES”
Mumbai, September 24, 2007: Transport Corporation of India Ltd., Asia’s leading integrated supply chain and logistics solutions provider has bagged the prestigious CII Award for Supply Chain Excellence for Excellence in Supply Chain Design, Re-engineering & Delivering value to customers. Amongst a host of contenders, TCI emerged as the winner for Supply Chain Reengineering for one of its key customers that delivered value and competitive edge. This award has been instituted by CII in association with India Value Fund for the first time to recognise logistics companies displaying remarkable innovations in Supply Chain Management. The award was presented by the Union Minister of State for Industries, Mr. Ashwani Kumar.
The winners were selected on the basis of a white paper followed by a closed door presentation before the jury of some of the most well known names in the logistics industry such as Professor G. Raghuram, a professor at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, Professor Janat Shah of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, Professor T. T. Narendran of the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and Mr. N. Kumar, Chairman, CII-National Council on Logistics & former President of CII and consulting agencies as Ernst & Young.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Vineet Agarwal, Executive Director, TCI said, “We are very happy to have received this award and it would be our continuous endeavour to provide better quality, design, innovation, choice, convenience and service with the least amount of risk to our customers spread across all industry verticals such as auto, pharma, manufacturing, retail & agri business etc.”
