Secure-It Introduces Computer Industry’s First Two-In One Security Tracking and Locking System

Computer security manufacturer Secure-It, Inc. has introduced a new security product that literally locks-down the thousands of notebook computers thieves steal every day in America. STOP-Lock combines a tracking system with a locking mechanism to foil crooks that try to snatch unguarded computers.

“STOP-Lock is an industry first,” said Secure-It President John Themistos. “Until now security systems have either secured notebooks or helped track them down if they’ve been lost or stolen. STOP-Lock does both.”

STOP-Lock features a highly-visible small metal plate that attaches securely to the cover of a notebook computer. The plate is stamped with unique barcode information that registers the computer with a national database.

A specially engineered lock snaps into the security plate, and a steel cable anchors the notebook to desks, chairs, tables or any other stationary object. It would take 800 pounds of pressure to remove the metal security plate from the notebook.

As an added layer of security, if the thief does try to tear-off the plate, the gel used to chemically bond the plate to the computer leaves an indelible “tattoo” containing:

1) a toll-free telephone number; 2) a “Stolen Property” warning stamp. This makes it nearly impossible for a thief to resell the computer – which is why most criminals snatch notebooks.

“This system will help colleges, universities, government and private industry stem the rip-tide of computer and information theft,” said Themistos. “The problem is costing industry billions of dollars in lost data. STOP-Lock will help end this raid on business and personal files.”

STOP-Lock also secures video game consoles, televisions, DVD players and a range of electronic devices. The STOP-Lock security plate installs easily and stays permanently attached to the equipment – so even when the cable is removed, equipment is protected with round-the-clock security.

STOP-Lock also helps track down notebooks and other equipment people have forgotten in cabs, restaurants, hotels or anywhere else – ensuring quick recovery of lost property.

The STOP-Lock Kit retails for $39.95 and includes a STOP-Lock plate, six foot steel cable, a lock with two keys, alcohol prep cleaner, adhesive gel activator and a convenient carrying pouch.
