Shopzilla Chooses Bluespring’s BPM Suite as the Business Process Infrastructure in Support of its Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 Rollout
Bluespring Software, the Business Process Management Suite (BPMS) software company that brings process agility to the enterprise, announces that Shopzilla has chosen Bluespring’s BPM Suite as the company’s business process infrastructure in support of its Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 rollout.
“Due to the nature of our business, our environment changes fast and frequently. We run our software development process under the agile umbrella to respond quickly to business needs and refine our processes every two weeks. Core to our vendor selection criteria was how easy it was to facilitate iterative changes to a process,” said Christophe Louvion, Vice President of Innovation at Shopzilla. “With process agility in mind, Bluespring was the hands down, obvious choice.”
Bluespring’s process agility differentiation stems from its interpretive XML approach to process execution instead of compiling code, the traditional approach taken by most BPMS vendors. Forrester Research, Gartner, IDC and Aberdeen all recognize the process agility advantages of Interpretive XML. They include:
The ability to make in-flight changes to a process or processes without having to re-start the process from the beginning or without having to re-boot or re-start the server
The ability to pause or re-start a process at any point
The ability to deploy new versions of a process without affecting existing running instances
The ability to specify the date and time a new version of a process should take effect without being dependent on staff to deploy the process at a specific date and time
Shopzilla’s Bluespring and SharePoint-based process infrastructure will support the automation of a variety of manual and paper based processes that tend to “slip through the cracks.”
“We’re honored to be Shopzilla’s BPMS vendor of choice and look forward to helping them achieve the benefits of becoming a more agile enterprise,” said Dave Noonan, President & CEO of Bluespring Software.
