ATG Integrates PayPal Express Checkout with ATG Commerce

Leading e-commerce platform provider adds support for PayPal, providing payment options for high-end Web sellers

ATG (Art Technology Group, Inc., NASDAQ: ARTG), whose e-commerce suite powers more top online sellers than any other, today announced the complete integration of PayPal Express Checkout as a payment option in ATG Commerce. In making full service PayPal functionality available across ATG Commerce and ATG Commerce OnDemand, ATG is providing merchants the ability to drive incremental sales and increase online conversions with one of the leading online payment methods.

PayPal Express Checkout users store their preferred credit, debit or checking account information via their PayPal account and do not have to re-enter this information on individual sites. Allowing customers to shop online without sharing their financial information directly with merchants can alleviate consumer security concerns and streamlines the buying process. By integrating PayPal as a checkout option with the advanced personalization features built into ATG’s e-commerce platform, online sellers can create the optimal customer experience, making e-shopping a more secure, convenient and speedy process. High-end merchants and large retailers that provide multiple payment options for their customers attest to lower shopping cart abandonment rates.

“To grow your business online, it helps to have easy, affordable ways to reach more customers,” said Gene Alston, director of PayPal merchant services. “ATG helps drive e-commerce growth for many of the world’s most recognizable brands, and we are seeing an increased number of large, global merchants who wish to implement PayPal as a payment option on their sites.”

“With more than 153 million accounts, it’s clear that many consumers feel comfortable using PayPal as their preferred payment method,” said Cliff Conneighton, senior vice president, ATG. “Our partnership with PayPal will allow many of the leading brands to mitigate shopping cart abandonment and increase their conversion rates by offering customers the option to use a secure payment option they are already familiar with.”
