Net Care Launches Corporate Hosting Service ”Net Care Virtual Platform f.a.s.t”

–Virtualization technology achieves maximum flexibility and availability–

Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ, NASDAQ: IIJI, TSE1: 3774), one of Japan’s leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, and Net Care, Inc., the IIJ Group company, today announced October 15, 2007, launch of the corporate hosting service, Net Care Virtual Platform Service f.a.s.t.

The f.a.s.t hosting service provides a dedicated virtual environment for each customer on a single physical server using virtualization software by U.S. VMware, Inc. The virtual platform is not limited by hardware performance or functions and allows the customer to use Windows, Linux, or any other OS of their choosing and to roll out their own applications.

There are several advantages to this system.
– Supporting a variety of outsourcing needs
Because the customer can freely build applications on the f.a.s.t
server located at the IIJ data center, database servers and other
internal servers, Web servers, and a variety of other functions can
be outsourced. To support customer system operations, the IIJ Group
will leverage its expertise acquired through its service desk
business and data center operation and monitoring business,
providing specialist engineers who monitor and operate the system
24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

– Flexible resource access
Through virtualization technology, the physical server memory, SAN
storage disk space, and other available resources can be
partitioned and added to the customer’s virtual environment when
needed. This allows the necessary resources to be increased over
time, which provides the perfect platform for customers who need
flexibility after establishing their system.

– High availability
If a specific physical server experiences a failure, the virtual
environment can be automatically transferred to another physical
server. This minimizes system downtime and maximizes service
continuity.

– Selectable connection type
The standard method of connecting to the f.a.s.t system is via
IIJ’s high-quality 1 Gbps Internet connection line. However,
customers have a selection of connection types to suit their
application environment, including wide area Ethernet, Internet
VPN, and other network services, making it easy to outsource
corporate servers.

IIJ is dedicated to delivering the most convenient and advanced
services to our customers.
