Seagate sponsors “secret of hard disk” exhibition at science museum

As a part of 20th Anniversary of Nippon Seagate Inc., an affiliate of Seagate Technology (NYSE:STX), the world’s leading maker of consumer electronics hard drives, announced today it is sponsoring “Secrets of Hard Disk” Exhibition together with the Science Museum, Tokyo of the Japan Science Foundation. The exhibition will be held at Science Museum, Tokyo and it aims to give opportunities for children to learn and experience Hard Disk Drives, which are not only used for personal computer, but also increasingly adopted for consumer electronics devices. The exhibition will run from March 26, 2005 to April 5, 2005.

At the “Secrets of Hard Disk” Exhibition, basic structure of hard disk will be displayed with panels and actual models for children to understand easier. Children can experience hard disk drives not only by listening to lectures about magnetic recording, but also try themselves how basic technologies around themselves are applied to recording system. At the same time, they can learn history of hard disks and feel the innovation of scientific technologies. There will be a workshop and an expert from Seagate answer to questions about hard disk drives. The Seagate’s first HDD product “ST506″ will be displayed at the exhibition.
