Debasish Som, IAS and ex-MD, WBIDC, joins Feedback Ventures as its Eastern Region Head

Mumbai, October 3, 2007: Feedback Ventures, India’s leading infrastructure services company, today announced the appointment of Mr. Debasish Som, the former Managing Director of the West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation, as the first head of its Eastern Regional office. Mr. Som, an IAS officer of the 1983 batch of the West Bengal cadre, has resigned from the service and joined Feedback to spearhead its operations and business development in the fast growing Eastern region of India.

“I am extremely pleased that a senior person of Debasish’s calibre has joined Feedback. His experience across different positions will be of immense help to Feedback. Apart from experience, he also brings the hands-on expertise in making large projects­­ possible,” said Vinayak Chatterjee, Chairman of Feedback Ventures.

“I believe that Feedback offers a unique mix of private-sector initiative combined with nation-building efforts across different sectors—transport, power, water, urban development, healthcare, factories, SEZs, etc. I look forward to working with seven hundred Feedbackers to make infrastructure happen in the East and the Northeast, or in thirteen of India’s twenty-eight states. There’s much to do, and we will do it,” reiterated Mr. Som.

“We are already working on national highways in Assam; rural roads in Bihar; hospitality projects in Assam and Bengal; urban townships in Bengal; electricity reforms in Jharkhand; and rail privatization in Orissa. Debasish and his new team will build on these steps and make Feedback an equally strong name in the East as it is in other regions”, added R. S. Ramasubramaniam, Vice Chairman of Feedback Ventures.
