Xanadoo Surpasses 12,000 Subscribers in the U.S. with Navini

- Rapid growth fueled by wireless convenience, innovative service plans and strong local presence

Xanadoo Wireless High-Speed Internet is pleased to announce that it recently surpassed 12,000 subscribers, a key milestone within its four initial market launches. This rapid growth places Xanadoo as one of the largest 2.5 GHz wireless operators in the country and continues to demonstrate the strong demand among consumers and small businesses for wireless high-speed internet and related broadband services. Xanadoo offers service in three Texas cities, Lubbock, Wichita Falls and Abilene, and recently expanded into Lawton, Oklahoma using Navini’s pre-Mobile WiMAX solution.

“We are thrilled with our progress in these initial markets,” said Rory Lindgren, COO of Xanadoo. “Our solid growth, along with continual positive feedback from our local retail partners and customers, reinforces that our wireless network, value proposition and service delivery are being very well received, particularly given the fact that these markets offer a full complement of broadband services including DSL, cable and alternative wireless providers. This certainly lays a solid foundation for our planned expansion in other markets later this year and beyond.”

Lindgren continued, “We selected Navini Networks as our network infrastructure provider given their leading global position in Mobile WiMAX network solutions. With advanced and proven technologies such as Smart Beamforming, Navini has enabled us to quickly build and deploy a wireless broadband network to compete head-to-head with cable and DSL and provide features that wireline services can’t.”

Xanadoo is also one of the first operators to have started to migrate to Mobile WiMAX technology. Navini’s commercial Mobile WiMAX solution is an easy upgrade for existing customers allowing them to seamlessly convert.

“Navini is proud to be the infrastructure provider for Xanadoo”, said Roger Dorf, CEO of Navini. “They have a keen sense of the business and proven sales and distribution capabilities that enables them to quickly ramp up network deployments and customer acquisition efforts. Their service plan offerings have been very innovative and allow subscribers to truly begin to experience personal broadband.”

Xanadoo currently offers five desktop modem service plans and a PCMCIA laptop card plan, everyday low pricing starting at just US$14.95, wireless mobility and convenience, instant plug-n-play set-up, no phone or cable service requirements and no annual service plan options.
