Avocent Embedded Management – Layer 1

Avocent management solutions consolidate rack-based KVM, serial console, service processor and power management into a single console, providing a single, comprehensive user interface for remote in-band and out-of-band management. These include:
Layer 2 – In the Rack
KVM over IP switches – DSR® KVM over IP switches provide multiple digital paths for remote out-of-band access to devices and the ability to remotely power cycle connected devices. Managed with the DSView® 3 software, DSR KVM switches enable BIOS-level control of servers and serial equipment from anywhere.
Complete serial console control – Avocent Cyclades® ACS advanced console servers provide secure, remote access to IT devices and console port management for UNIX- and Windows-based servers.
Power management over IP – DSView® 3 software gives IT administrator out-of-band remote management of Avocent Cyclades PM power management devices and Server Technology Sentry™ Switched Cabinet Power Distribution Units. DSView 3 software also allows power management of IPMI-enabled servers and devices.
Service processor management – Avocent offers the MergePoint™ family of service processor managers. An industry-first, MergePoint helps IT organizations leverage the service processor technologies (like IPMI or iLO) already present in servers.
Layer 3 – Centralized Console
Centralized out-of-band management – DSView® 3 management software provides secure, remote and consolidated out-of-band management of the entire IT infrastructure. DSView 3 software enables administrators to use a single interface to control DSR KVM over IP switches, console management appliances, power distribution units, and IPMI-enabled servers and devices.
In-band Server Management – the LANDesk Server Manager solution provides all of the tools needed to plan, deploy and manage your server infrastructure throughout its life cycle. It combines systems management features such as provisioning, patch management, inventory, monitoring and alerting with remote management capabilities available through integration with Avocent DSView 3 management software.
