Mid Cheshire NHS Hospitals Trust selects Ascribe Web Pharmacy as IT Solution

Ascribe plc (AIM:ASP), the health IT Group, today announced that Mid Cheshire NHS Hospitals Trust have selected Ascribe to deliver Web Pharmacy, their Pharmacy IT solution to Leighton Hospital to help deliver improved patient care. The system will integrate the Pharmacy’s Dispensary, Stores, Finance & Reporting; it will also utilises a software interface to the Hospital’s existing Patient Administration System (PAS) to enable a more comprehensive Electronic Patient Record (EPR).

Mid Cheshire NHS Hospitals selected Ascribe’s Web Pharmacy solution as the best fit for their clinical and information needs following an open procurement review of competitive bids.

“Our decision to install Ascribe’s Pharmacy is based upon the strengths of their clinical systems and the improvements that these bring to patient-care,” said Alan Denby, Chief Pharmacist of Leighton Hospital.

“Web Pharmacy forms the basis of a modern Medicines’ Management strategy and is available today. It is easily integrated into a hospital’s existing systems and is backed up by Quality Assured standards of support and service level agreements that provide both logistical and financial benefits to the trust, and improved patient care and decision support to clinicians ‘at the point of care’,” explained Stephen Critchlow, Ascribe’s Executive Chairman.
