ZTE wins InfoVision Award at Broadband World Forum Europe 2007
IEC Recognizes ZTE’s Superior GPON+VDSL2 Technology Solution
9 October 2007, Berlin, Germany – ZTE Corporation (”ZTE”), a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, received the prestigious InfoVision Award for the Access Network Technologies and Services category on 9th Oct, 2007 at Broadband World Forum Europe 2007 in Berlin, Germany. ZTE won the award for its GPON+VDSL2 technology, particularly the ZXA10 C220+ ZXDSL 9806H product series. This technology solution enables carriers to cost effectively deliver next-generation services to its customers, including Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) and high definition video-on-demand (HDVOD).
The InfoVision Award program recognizes technologies, applications, products, advances, and services judged to be the most unique and beneficial to the telecommunications industry. ZTE submitted two entries – ZXA10 C220+ ZXDSL 9806H and ZXMP M800 Metro DWDM System – and both qualified among the top finalists for the award.
“This year’s Infovision Award winners can be proud that their success has come at a time when Broadband development is at its peak around the world and when competition to be an award winner has never been higher,” said IEC Vice President, Tom Costello.
As one of the pioneering telecom manufacturers committed to R&D of commercial application in the Access Network field, ZTE has an in-depth understanding of GPON and DSL technologies, and is strategically positioned in the international market. ZTE’s winning entry, the GPON system (ZXA10 C220) supports triple-play service that combines voice, data and video services, as well as supporting mixed-plug of EPON and GPON boards in one platform. The key components of the system support complete active/standby redundancy.
“We are very proud to be given the prestigious InfoVision Award for our GPON+VDSL2 products,” said Ms. Chen Jie, ZTE Vice President and General Manager of Wireline and Service products, after collecting the award from IEC Executive Vice President Mr. Roger Plummer. “It is a great encouragement and recognition for our R&D efforts in developing superior Access Network products.”
ZXDSL 9806H is a Micro IP-based, multimedia-service-oriented and NGN-ready DSLAM solution for both outdoor and indoor Installation. With standard 19″ width and 2U height, front access and embedded splitter, the system supports up to 64 lines VDSL2 or 96 lines ADSL2+. These products also support FTTC/B, with ZXA10 C220 acting as an OLT in the central office while ZXDSL 9806H as ONU for curbs or buildings, enabling carriers to update and optimize their broadband access network. To date, ZTE’s ZXA10 access products have obtained 13 essential and 355 invention patents globally.
