HMTV Makes Everything “BIGG”er and Better!

Hungry Man TV is launching the latest and greatest addition to the web…Drum roll please…introducing “The Biggs”

Innovative online web channel HungrymanTV.com will unveil its fifth original series, “The Biggs,” later this month (October 2007). The series documents the barmy life of Sir Rodney Biggs- a lewd and foul-mouthed rocker propagated in Shepherd’s Bush in West London. Additional episodes of “The Biggs” will premiere on HMTV on a monthly basis following the launch.

Famed film, TV, commercial, and music video director (and former NYC rocker) Marcos Siega (Pretty Persuasion, Showtime’s Dexter) joined forces with writer, actor, and director Bix Skahill (Life Without Dick) and make-up and special effects company Drac Studios (Van Helsing, Hannibal, Blade) to develop a one-of-a-kind, groundbreaking series for HMTV. In addition, there are several famous faces rumored to appear in the series and 80’s pop icon Curt Smith (Tears for Fears) has recorded original music specifically for “The Biggs.”

About the Show:

Sir Rod Biggs has rocked all over the music scene in the UK and Stateside since the 60’s. The simple things in life please rock legend Sir Rod Biggs – a virgin pile of blow, appreciative female fans baring their bouncing funbags, talking about his massive penis, bringing out his massive penis, others talking about his massive penis, the occasional three-way. Welcome to Sir Rod’s world: sex, drugs, rock and roll and a really huge schlong!

BUT- this member of rock royalty is unlike any other you have known. What’s the most compelling characteristic of Sir Rod? Well, he is actually a state-of-the-art animatronic puppet developed using technology that has never been used before – anywhere! Drac Studios are the masterminds behind the puppetry. Specialized movement technology (based on the same technology used for steady-cams) combined with the use of both remote-controlled and hand puppets with skin made from materials invented specifically for this project enabled the team to provide the largest scale and most human-like puppet ever made. It takes a team of five puppeteers to control the mechanics of Sir Rod. Two of the puppeteers direct the puppet’s arm and hand movements, one controlling the left side and one controlling the right. The puppeteer in charge of Sir Rod’s left side movement is also responsible for providing the head and mouth movement along with his voice. Three additional puppeteers are behind the camera controlling the facial mechanics creating smiles, frowns, blinking, eyebrow, and cheek movement via remote-control. Even more challenging than learning to operate the puppet was that director, Marcos Siega, wanted the ability to ad lib throughout each episode, so the puppeteers had to doubly master their craft and be ready to create facial expressions, hand movements, and head movements on the spot to sync with the dialogue.

He has directed episodes of CBS’s award winning series, Cold Case, last year’s fan favorite, Shark starring James Woods, The CW’s critically acclaimed series, Veronica Mars, and Showtime’s edgy new series, Dexter. Siega celebrated his feature film debut in 2004 with Samuel Goldwyn’s ironic comedy Pretty Persuasion (with Evan Rachel Wood and Ron Livingston) and his new film Chaos Theory (Warner Bros.) starring Ryan Reynolds and Emily Mortimer will arrive in theaters later this fall. He has also directed dozens of music videos for some of the biggest names in rock including All American Rejects, Anthrax, Blink-182, and Weezer (just to name a few).
