Live and Exclusive Spanish-Language Coverage of the ALCS Begins Friday, October 12
Live and exclusive Spanish-language coverage of the Major League Baseball (MLB) postseason returns to Fox Sports en Español for the seventh consecutive year, starting with the American League Championship Series (ALCS) and continuing through the World Series. The ALCS action kicks off on Friday, October 12, with a pre-game show at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT, followed by Game 1 between the Cleveland Indians and Boston Red Sox live from Fenway Park.
From Fox Sports en Español’s studios in Los Angeles, José Tolentino and Washington Nationals manager Manny Acta – the only active MLB manager doing TV commentary this postseason – will host a half-hour pre-game show, “Previo al Juego presentado por Budweiser,” providing fans with in-studio commentary and analysis of each game. Fox Sports en Español veteran Adrián García Márques will handle play-by-play while color commentary will come from former MLB All-Star and current Los Angeles Dodgers coach Manny Mota. Tolentino and Acta will also provide post-game analysis after each game of the ALCS and World Series.
Fox Sports en Español has televised the MLB post-season for Spanish-speaking audiences in the U.S. since 2001. Last April, the network extended its exclusive Spanish-language rights to Major League Baseball (MLB) through the 2013 season. As part of the expanded deal, a sublicensing agreement with Fox Broadcasting Company, Fox Sports en Español for the first time this year offered live and exclusive Spanish-language coverage of 26 regular season games as well as the All-Star Game from San Francisco.
