Christian Fredrikson Appointed Head of Asia Pacific Region, Nokia Siemens Networks

• He takes over from Rajeev Suri who has been appointed Global Head of Services and a member of Nokia Siemens Networks’ Executive Board

With about 20 years of international experience in the IT and telecommunications industry, Christian is a young and dynamic leader who has a strong track record of success in sales and research development roles. He is known for his strong leadership and people skills, and is highly committed to ensuring customer satisfaction.
Christian was the Head of Operations and Business Software (OBS) Business Unit at Nokia Siemens Networks from August 2006. During this time, he achieved great progress in supporting the transformation of Nokia Siemens Networks towards a solutions and software company, and brought strong improved financial performance to the company. In earlier roles, he headed Nokia Siemens Networks (ex-Nokia Networks) sales and marketing efforts in Asia Pacific; and subsequently gained a strong track record in the Mobile Switching and Core Networks businesses.
Christian was a sales director for Nokia Networks from 2000 to 2004 in Asia Pacific, and retained deep and close relationships with Nokia Siemens Networks’ customers in the region. Together with his team, Christian played an instrumental role in growing Nokia Networks’ market share and business in Taiwan, India, Indonesia and Thailand. In addition, he was the executive sponsor for many Asia Pacific customers while based in Finland.
Christian worked in Sweden from 1995 to 1997, where he headed Technical Sales Support for Nordic countries. From Sweden, he relocated to Singapore to head Technical Sales Support in the Asia Pacific. In 1999, he was made Director, Mobile System at Nokia Networks in Asia Pacific. In that role, he was responsible for Nokia Networks’ mobile infrastructure business in the region.
Christian returned to Finland in 2004 to lead Communication Core Networks at Nokia Networks as its Vice-President. In 2006, he assumed the role of General Manager of Core Networks at Nokia’s Networks Business Group.
Before joining Nokia, Christian worked as an Engineer and Project Manager in an IT department of a Finnish enterprise for five years.
Christian is married and has two children. He holds a degree of Masters in Engineering from Åbo Akademi in Turku, Finland.
