iRise Names Steven Yamanaka as Chief Technology Officer
iRise®, the world’s leading application definition software and services company, today announced the appointment of Steven Yamanaka to chief technology officer (CTO). Yamanaka comes to iRise from Aceva Technologies where he served as CTO and chief architect. He will report directly to Executive Vice President of Products Steve Brickley and will be based at iRise’s headquarters in El Segundo, Calif.
As CTO for iRise, Yamanaka will be responsible for technology strategy behind the product and is charged with running engineering and development. His background in having set up an outsourced development team will also be leveraged as iRise aims for greater exposure and usage of iRise’s application simulation software by global sourcing partners.
Yamanaka’s background as a technology professional encompasses domestic and international industry experience. Most recently at Aceva, a financial software company, he determined the technical strategy, system architecture and technology for the firm.
Prior to Aceva, Yamanaka was with Mineshare (acquired by Digital Impact), a customer intelligence and analysis company, where he held positions as vice president of engineering and director of Web development. Before Aceva, Yamanaka held the role of senior advisory engineer for Kofax Image Products, a document imaging and document management company. At that company, he oversaw the product architecture and development of Ascent Capture.
Yamanaka was chief architect and founding member of Starbase Corporation (acquired by Borland), a provider of software development tools. During his tenure, he designed the Starbase platform and managed the development process.
Yamanaka has also held senior design and technical roles at Ashton-Tate (acquired by Borland) and TRW, Inc. (acquired by Northrop Grumman).
“Part of iRise’s growth trajectory involves scaling product development to meet demand for new product lines, and Steven’s expertise in product architecture and development will be greatly leveraged as iRise continues to expand the business into new markets,” said Maurice Martin, president, chief operating officer and founder for iRise.
