TriActive® Systems Management On Demand™ v7 Extends SaaS Technology Leadership

TriActive, Inc., a pioneer in SaaS for systems management today announced a new major release and new name for its software service: Systems Management On Demand™ v7. Version 7.0 brings a newly designed user interface and a number of new features:
300,000+ title software catalog
Integrated software utilization, license compliance, and single-click license harvesting
Everywhere-coverage (hotels, coffee shops, homes, etc). for mobile laptops
PC security assessment dashboard and reporting
Web-based remote control, file transfer, and chat
Community library of best practices, custom reports, scripts, and packages
Integrated SNMP network & local system monitoring with automated help desk incident management
Improved Wake-on-LAN (WOL), patch management, and software delivery
Newly designed user interface with over 200% faster performance

“We’ve been a TriActive customer for over three years,” said Sergio Alanso, IT Director, Avmed. “The new v7 release is a big step forward. We especially like the software catalog, Web remote control, improved patch management, and will take advantage of software utilization and license harvesting going forward. The best part is there was nothing for us to do to take advantage of v7. During the beta and even now, we are able to go back and forth between the current v6 and the new v7 allowing us to try new features and to manage our own migration. I’m not aware of any other vendor that can do this.”

“TriActive listened to the needs of customers and partners trying to manage thousands of software titles in their environment. When we started the v7 open beta, there were over 250,000 titles in the newly introduced software catalog, and some six months later we’re up over 300,000 titles. And, we’re adding 1,000 new titles each week. No customer or partner wants to take on that project; continual maintenance of the software catalog is definitely one of the big benefits of our SaaS model,” said Ron Halversen, VP Marketing. “We received so much great feedback during our beta that we added a number of additional features for our customers. The biggest is software usage. We don’t just track what software is being used, we’ve taken it to the next level by providing intelligent analysis with saving our customers money as the goal. Reports on usage to help improve the proper procurement and compliance levels is just the beginning. Additional capabilities to track software that you don’t own licenses for to help prevent audits is big for our customers.”

“We are a new customer with TriActive,” said Kathy Lamb, Vice President and CIO, Ames Tools. “We bought into version 7.0 because it gives us an integrated solution for network monitoring, hardware and software asset management, and help desk. Having a single solution that seamlessly pulls all of these pieces together greatly improves our ability to provide high levels of reliability and service to our end users at significantly reduced operational costs.”

TriActive® offers a modular set of solutions and suites that can be provisioned with just a mouse click. The TriActive® Desktop Management Suite is the company’s most popular suite and includes everywhere-coverage for remote laptops and desktops with functions for asset inventory, associated fixed assets, software utilization, license compliance, software license harvesting, patch management, software delivery, Web-based remote control, help desk incident and problem management with support for tasks, workflow, auto-routing, escalation, and notification, fronted by an integrated Web-based executive dashboard and reporting subsystem. Version 7 introduces a brand new suite, Server Management Suite, which adds SNMP network and local system monitoring with service auto-restart, single-instance system reboot, and automated help desk incident management.

“Client management pricing ranges from $4 dollars to less than $0.20 cents per node per month, depending on the selected solutions, unit price band, length of term, and payment option,” said Poul Nielsen, TriActive, CEO/President. “We surprise a lot of people because TriActive SaaS pricing is lower than what many pay for traditional on-premise software. On top of that, SaaS customers don’t have to make any investment in infrastructure, start another IT project, or do any maintenance whatsoever. As a result, TriActive total cost of ownership (TCO) is significantly lower than many on-premise alternatives.”
