Dave Smith Joins D-Link Europe as Vice President of Business Solutions to Drive Corporate Sector Growth
London, 19th November 2007 – In order to drive further demand for its network solutions for the enterprise market, D-Link, a leading manufacturer of networking, connectivity, and data communications products, has today announced a senior appointment to its European management team. Dave Smith joins D-Link Europe as Vice President, Business Solutions. Targeting existing and emerging markets, Smith will work closely with D-Link’s business solutions teams across eastern and western Europe to drive further adoption of D-Link’s business solutions for corporate customers. Smith’s appointment is effective immediately, and he will be based at D-Link’s European Headquarters in London.
Prior to joining D-Link, Smith was Senior VP Marketing for Swyx Solutions, where he led Swyx’s corporate and technology marketing functions on a world-wide basis. During his period at Swyx, Smith was instrumental in shaping the marketing strategy and execution that led to Swyx tripling its EMEA business within a two year period, and attaining market-leader position for its SME segment in IP Telephony.
Before joining Swyx, Smith was Director of EMEA Marketing at Cisco Systems and during his time with the company, held various senior marketing and product leadership roles which were instrumental to the delivery of Cisco’s technology marketing across the EMEA region. Previous to Cisco, Smith was at Nortel Networks for 11 years where he held several technical and marketing management positions across EMEA.

Smith holds an Honours degree in Electronic Engineering from Bradford University and a Masters Degree from Reading University.
