OpenService joins Red Hat ISV Partner program to assure highest levels of reliability and security for InfoCenter suite on leading Linux platforms

OpenService, Inc., the first Enterprise Information and Event Management (EIEM) provider, today announced that the company’s InfoCenter™ software suite has been certified by Red Hat (NYSE: RHT) through its Red Hat Ready program. The certification attests to the rigorous testing OpenService conducted to assure full compatibility of InfoCenter on Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS4 and the enthusiastic participation of OpenService in the Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Partner Program sponsored by Red Hat.

“Certified interoperability between InfoCenter and Red Hat solutions enhances the ability of our mutual customers to improve the reliability and security of the world’s largest enterprise networks,” said Scott Crenshaw, Vice President, Enterprise Linux Line of Business at Red Hat. “As organizations increasingly rely on InfoCenter products to monitor the performance and integrity of their networks and all the critical enterprise services they deliver, the collaboration between OpenService and Red Hat assures customers that they can obtain the highest level of system reliability and security from InfoCenter software on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.”

“By gaining pre-release access to upcoming versions of Red Hat Enterprise Linux through the Red Hat Ready program, OpenService can ensure that InfoCenter products will take advantage of new features of Enterprise Linux as they become available,” said Art Zins, OpenService’s vice president of business development. “We also look forward to leveraging Red Hat’s brand and expertise in the Linux market now that the certification further validates our position as a leading Enterprise Event Management solution.”

Zins added that Security Management Center (SMC), the company’s security software which preceded InfoCenter, is also supported on various Red Hat distributions. Current SMC customers can obtain a seamless upgrade to InfoCenter and take advantage of new functionality and on-going support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux. InfoCenter also allows SMC users to integrate NerveCenter, the company’s Network Management and Event Correlation System, into a single management console. This can provide security and network managers with an integrated view of events that are critical to ensuring business continuity.

The IBM Systems and Technology Group uses an OpenService/Red Hat platform as the core of a multi-vendor threat management system which ensures internal security compliance throughout the IBM network of development labs. “OpenService provided a centralized way to monitor data trends across all of our systems, helping us to assess risk in real-time,” said Dan Morgan, IT Security Focal for Software Development at IBM. “OpenService is a Red Hat Ready partner, so we knew the solution was qualified, tested, and supported to run seamlessly on blade servers running Red Hat Enterprise Linux.” For more information on the IBM implementation, please download the case study from www.openservice.com.
