Alcatel-Lucent demonstrates its “Humanitarian Meeting Place” project at the European MarketPlace on Corporate Social Responsibility in Brussels
Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) today announced that one of the initiatives resulting from the Alcatel-Lucent Entrepreneurial Boot Camps, the “Humanitarian Meeting Place”, will be presented in Brussels today at the CSR Europe’s MarketPlace on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), an innovative forum for sharing solutions to business challenges in an informal, exchange-driven and creative environment.
The platform can be made available via Internet or Interactive digital TV and enables users to interact via chat or blog, access videos or podcasts, manage contacts and projects, or directly donate to one of the featured aid organizations.
The Alcatel-Lucent “Humanitarian Meeting Place” project enables aid organizations to promote their work and initiatives and allows donors to receive direct and more regular feedback from the specific project they support or would like to support. The “Humanitarian Meeting Place” has also received the Alcatel-Lucent CSR Champions award*.
“With the help of Alcatel-Lucent’s “Humanitarian Meeting Place”, the new opportunities reflected by the phenomenon of on-line communities will allow aid organizations to fulfill the potential to create a stronger relationship with the existing support base and increase attractiveness to potential new donors”, says Caroline Guillaumin, Alcatel-Lucent’s VP Corporate Communications and CSR. “Alcatel-Lucent’s participation at this event underlines its commitment to being a socially responsible company and to combining its technological know-how with its CSR strategy”.
