The D-Link® xStack™ DES-3228PA provides PoE technology with emphasis on security, performance, and resiliency

D-Link, the end-to-end networking solutions provider for consumer and business, today introduced the newest addition to its popular series of xStack™ switches, a 24-port stackable managed switch that supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) and offers the small to medium business (SMB) best-of-breed features to set up a secure and effective network at an affordable price tag.

Featuring the latest Distributed Network Architecture™ (DNA) stacking technology from D-Link, the xStack DES-3228PA can stack up to 6 units, regardless of physical environment or location, providing up to 156 ports under single IP management.

The xStack DES-3228PA is a managed 24-port 10/100 stackable Layer 2 PoE switch with 4 Gigabit copper ports, including two combo SFP slots for easy, flexible connection to fiber-based Gigabit or 100Base-FX media, along with an optional redundant power supply.

The DES-3228PA is equipped to handle and protect from many of today’s emerging security vulnerabilities previously delegated to only stand-alone firewalls. It incorporates the D-Link Safeguard Engine™, which filters out threats to the network such as Denial of Service (DoS) attacks, Trojan Horses, Worms and more. It also supports customized access rules that can be set up to restrict network access and 802.1x authentication to verify user identity, and incorporates port-based security to protect network integrity.

“By enabling up to six switches to be stacked together and operate as one, regardless of location, our new DES-3228PA is an ideal network solution for a growing business, whether it be a factory, warehouse, campus, small office, or expanding enterprise facility,” said AJ Wang, Chief Technical Officer, D-Link. “It combines robust security, advanced management features and PoE to provide a flexible platform capable of handling the most demanding network applications.”

The D-Link xStack DES-3228PA switch features a variety of network management options including console, CLI, Telnet, Web GUI, SNMP, v2/v3 and RMON. It provides advanced traffic management options including Bandwidth Control, Broadcast Storm Control, Private VLANs, and support for IGMP Snooping for a more efficient and manageable network.
