Helius Announces New Emergency Alert System

Helius Inc., the worldwide leader in IPTV solutions for business, today announced their new MediaSignage with Emergency Alert. The Emergency Alert Module enables security personnel, property managers, crisis management teams and first responders to efficiently communicate with the public in the event of an emergency. Built on the Helius Digital Signage platform, the Emergency Alert Module interrupts the standard communication of the digital sign, and deploys timely and accurate emergency information and instructions.

MediaSignage with Emergency Alert is a dual purpose network of digital screens. During non-emergency periods, the network of digital signs delivers public information, wayfinding details, calendar of events or even advertising. In the event of an emergency, the screens switch from the standard display to emergency notifications and instructions.

The Helius MediaSignage platform has over five years of field testing and has proven reliable. The Emergency Alert Module adds to the core functionality of the MediaSignage platform by enabling the emergency interrupt ability and deployment of appropriate previously created information and instructions. Alternatively, the system administrator can utilize the included rapid authoring tools to create and deploy specific content addressing the emergency at hand, including specific instructions or relevant images and photos. Alert messages can be deployed to an individual digital screen, group of screens, or to the entire network, thereby targeting the affected area.
