Company Expands Engineering and Development Teams in China
3Leaf Systems™ (www.3leafsystems.com), a provider of next-generation virtualization solutions for enterprise data centers, today announced that it has established Research and Development (R&D) operations in China. This expansion will facilitate the delivery of 3Leaf’s solutions to meet the growing market demand of enterprise-class virtualization deployments.
“3Leaf’s global expansion in China highlights our commitment to deliver best-of-breed virtualization solutions to meet our customers’ next generation data center requirements,” said B.V. Jagadeesh, CEO, 3Leaf Systems. “Virtualization is one of the fastest growing markets worldwide due to the over-provisioning and strain of data center resources. Our new engineering and development facilities overseas are a testament to the performance and value proposition our products deliver to customers.”
“We applaud 3Leaf in their continuous market growth and ability to attract world class talent,” said Alex Mendez, general partner, Storm Ventures. “3Leaf’s global expansion signifies the company’s leadership position in the market. This expansion will provide 3Leaf with additional resources and talent to meet the growing demand for the company’s server virtualization solutions which efficiently address the unique business and technical requirements of today’s data center applications.”
3Leaf Systems is at the forefront working with businesses in migrating from traditional data center operations to fully virtualized environments. Since its inception, the company has experienced significant industry traction and recognition. In August 2007, 3Leaf was chosen by Network World as one of the top 10 technology innovators for delivering solutions that can boost performance, simplify management, or enhance the virtualization experience. In addition, the company was selected to the Byte and Switch “Top 10 Start-ups to Watch” list, which is bestowed upon ten upstart organizations, demonstrating innovative and unique solutions for ongoing storage issues. The 3Leaf V-8000 Virtual I/O Server has also recently been named a Best of VMworld Award Winner at VMworld 2007 for its innovation, value, performance, reliability and ease of use.
3Leaf V-8000 Virtual I/O Server
The 3Leaf V-8000 delivers scalable I/O connectivity for servers residing in the 3Leaf Virtual Compute Environment (VCE). In addition to providing highly scalable and efficient I/O, the VCE architecture minimizes the cost of putting commodity servers into service by removing the need for local networking and storage. The V-8000’s rich feature set maximizes server resource utilization and scalability, speeds up the deployment and provisioning of new servers, and provides high availability and centralized management. Significant capital costs savings from deploying the V-8000 can exceed 50 percent, and operations savings can be close to 60 percent.
3Leaf V-8000’s new PowerCockpit advanced “smart image” technology allows dynamic server provisioning to quickly deploy a software image to new or existing servers in a network consisting of physical and virtualized servers.
“The market demand for virtualization solutions offered by 3Leaf is growing,” said Ammar H. Hanafi, general partner, Alloy Ventures. “Expanding operations into China provides the company with greater visibility into global markets in delivering exactly what enterprises require today. We commend 3Leaf on their recent award wins and leadership in the virtualization market.”
