TELETRANS selects Alcatel-Lucent as sole supplier for nation-wide IP/MPLS and optical network in Romania
Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) today announced that TELETRANS, a subsidiary of TRANSELECTRICA S.A., Romania’s power transmission company, has selected its IP/MPLS* solution as the foundation of its nation-wide network expansion and optimization in Romania. Once the multi-million Euro contract is complete, TELETRANS will be able to transport a broad suite of premium IP based services with higher quality, reliability and flexibility.
TELETRANS will expand the capacity of its existing optical network to provide wide national coverage and meet anticipated future growth requirements. The operator will implement dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) transport technology in 28 TELETRANS’ locations and IP/MPLS service routing capabilities in 35 data sites. Alcatel-Lucent will also deliverthis solution in a turnkey project management mode including installation, deployment, integration, testing, training and maintenance.
