Wipro expands portfolio of Digital TV Stacks for Global Markets

IT Major develops Consumer IPs and Application Framework Components, which enables faster development of digital media devices
CES, Las Vegas, January 07, 2008: Wipro Technologies, the global IT services division of Wipro Limited (NYSE:WIT), today announced the availability of its Portfolio of Digital TV middleware addressing multiple global markets segmented by different standards.
The portfolio has ATSC and Open Cable along with Cable Card/POD for North America, DVB-T/S/C and DVB-CI for Europe and parts of Asia, and ISDB-T/S for Japan. Wipro also has MHEG-5 Profile 1.06 and DSM-CC for interactive DTV market of UK. In addition, Wipro has developed Application Framework Components, which enables faster development of digital media devices like Set-Top Box and Integrated Digital Television products.
