Richard Kitts Appointed Head of Hutchison Customer Business Team, Nokia Siemens Networks

• Effective January 1, 2008, Richard will manage all the company operations relating to Hutchison globally
• He was Head of the Telefonica Europe Customer Business Team
• Richard joined Nokia in 1999, and has held several executive level positions both in Asia and Europe

Richard is an experienced international business leader with over 20 years working in the IT and telecommunications industry. He has held roles in Engineering, Project Management, Customer Support, Sales and Marketing.

He was appointed Business Team Head in September 2004, responsible for all aspects of Nokia Siemens Networks business with the Telefonica Europe Group of companies; and has helmed this position since. He has managed customer teams in Ireland, UK, Germany, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. During his tenure, significant market share gains have been achieved in most markets.

Richard began his career with Nokia in 1999 as the Account Director for the SingTel Optus account team in Sydney Australia. During his time with Optus, the Nokia market share developed from a BSS only supply contract to become the prime infrastructure partner of this important and innovative customer.

Richard moved from Australia to the UK in 2003, as Lead Sales Director for Nokia Networks in India, Northern and Western Europe, and for the Hutchison global customer business team. Richard worked both in the lead commercial role and as the authorized representative of the Nokia product lines in the regions. During this period, extensive market share gains were within his allocated territories.

Richard is accustomed to operating in very complex environments and managing challenging projects. He has been responsible for the acquisition and delivery of a number of large radio and core network swap projects which involved migrating tens of millions of subscribers onto Nokia Siemens Networks platforms. These projects have been delivered successfully, whilst maintaining customer satisfaction, and delivering the required financial results for the company.

He holds both an MBA and a Masters degree in marketing management.

Richard is married with three daughters and currently lives in the UK. His interests include Rugby Union, Soccer, Photography, and Karate in which he holds a black belt 3rd dan.
