ANNOUNCEMENT OF IMEC TAIWAN
On January 22, 2008, IMEC will officially open a new office in Hsinchu,
Taiwan. As a leading nanoelectronics R&D center, IMEC collaborates with
industry, academia and research institutes worldwide to perform research 3
to 10 years ahead of industrial needs. Through its Taiwan office, IMEC
looks to strengthen and expand its relations with the Taiwanese
semiconductor industry and academia.

Commenting on the opening, Dr. Gilbert Declerck, president and CEO of IMEC,
said, “IMEC Taiwan will facilitate access to IMEC’s research strategy and
programs for Taiwanese companies, universities and R&D institutes by
bridging the cultural, language and geographical gap. The new organization
also intends to tap into the local pool of highly schooled labor to
strengthen our system and IC design team.”

PRESS CONFERENCE
IMEC Taiwan welcomes journalists to attend the press conference and hear
prominent speakers representing the Taiwanese government, science and
technology leaders, and IMEC’s executive management, including Dr. Gilbert
Declerck.
