InteliSum Corporation, the leading provider of metrically accurate real world 3D visualization and design software, was named Utah’s top software company by Utah Business Magazine at the first annual IQ Awards ceremony January 31, 2008. InteliSum’s LD3 software technology works in conjunction with Light Detection & Ranging (LIDAR) scanners to enable real time, incredibly accurate, real world 3D data capture and processing.

InteliSum’s software can be used to create architectural models for both existing structures (decoding) as well as future or soon-to-be-built structures (encoding). These models can then be used to test for structural soundness to avoid catastrophes associated with unstable bridges, roads and buildings.

For example, InteliSum’s LD3 technology was used recently by the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) to replace an existing 172 foot long bridge with a new 3 million pound bridge. Typically, a major freeway span bridge replacement would result in months of road closure accompanied by significant disruptions to traffic and workaround congestion. By using InteliSum technology to gather detailed terrain information UDOT was able to deploy and execute a plan to build the modular components for the new bridge span and replace it in one weekend.
