Servers and Desktops Running on Asianux Platforms Can Now Directly Join to Microsoft Active Directory Using Likewise
Likewise® Software, formerly Centeris, a leader in delivering open source audit and authentication solutions for mixed networks, today announced a reseller partnership with TOYO Corporation, a major technology supplier headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. In addition, Likewise announced support for Asianux®, a growing Linux platform in China, Japan, Korea and Vietnam. Companies using Linux systems based on the Asianux Linux platform can now use Likewise Software products to directly join their systems to Microsoft® Active Directory®.
Under the terms of the partnership with Likewise Software, Toyo has been selling, installing, and providing technical support for the Likewise Software products in Japan since last year, while helping Likewise release Likewise Enterprise supporting Asianux. Toyo additionally will be responsible for the sales and customer support for Likewise Enterprise in Japan in cooperation with Miracle Linux (http://www.miraclelinux.com/english/index.html), a company that develops and sells Asianux OS in Japan.
“Customers with a blend of Windows®, UNIX®, Linux® and Mac® systems are looking for ways to leverage their current investments, including Windows administrator skill sets,” said Satoshi Agatsuma, Senior Sales Engineer with TOYO Corporation. “Likewise Enterprise provides a way to easily join non-Windows systems to Microsoft Active Directory and manage all platforms from a unified directory they’re already using. We refined a shortlist of providers and Likewise emerged as the best solution to address authentication in mixed networks.”
“We are very excited about our partnership with TOYO,” said Tracy Lothringer, Director of Worldwide Alliances for Likewise. “TOYO has a track record of success and they are gaining early traction with some very large customers. And now with the addition of Asianux support, we feel very optimistic about the growth potential for Likewise in Asia.”
“I welcome this opportunity to endorse Likewise Software for supporting Asianux. With “Likewise Enterprise” and its integrated secure authentication, our customers can fully leverage the power of Asianux in a heterogeneous OS environment,” said Takeshi Sato, Vice Chairman, Asianux Corporation Ltd. “Miracle Linux will actively collaborate with TOYO Corporation to promote Likewise Enterprise in the Japan Market.”
