SAMSUNG’S New Multimedia Player Offers Endless Entertainment Possibilities

Samsung Electronics, a global leader in digital multimedia technology, raises the bar for portable entertainment with the YM-P1 Portable Media Player. The latest in Samsung’s award-winning line of digital audio and video players, the YM-P1 stores and plays a full range of audio and video files, and is the first player of its kind to allow direct-from-TV recording via an AV-in connection. The YM-P1 will be on display during CES 2006 at the Samsung booth, #11033 in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center from January 5th – 8th.

Samsung’s newest 20GB HDD portable multimedia player, the YM-P1, allows users to record their favorite programs direct from satellite or cable TV via an AV-in connection. The YM-P1 also offers player-to-TV playback, with VGA resolution, using the AV-out connection. Users can watch their favorite shows in 16:9 on a 4″ TFT-LCD screen that displays 16 million vivid colors. An exceptionally long battery life provides up to six hours of video enjoyment, and up to fifteen hours of audio.

“Samsung continues to push the envelope of portable multimedia design with a full featured player that is capable of direct-from-TV recording and compatible with all of the file formats consumers expect in a digital device,” said Mark Farish, Digital Media Products Sr. Marketing Manager, Samsung Electronics America. “The YM-P1 is the ideal multimedia player for the on-the-go consumer who wants it all. In essence, it’s a portable DVR. Photos, movies, music, and even television all fit right into your pocket to make the longest trip, or the shortest commute, an entertainment adventure.”
