Seagate ST1 Series provides the industry’s highest capacity 1-inch hard drive
Seagate Technology (NYSE:STX), the world’s largest supplier of hard drives for consumer electronics, announced today that Digitalway Co. Ltd., a leading brand that brings innovative digital audio and multimedia devices to the consumer market, has chosen Seagate 8GB 1-inch hard disc drives for its new digital audio player, the MPIO HD400. The Seagate 8GB ST1 Series is the highest capacity 1-inch hard disc drive in the market and is delivering cutting-edge portable audio products to consumers.
By delivering 8GB of storage capacity in a 1-inch form factor, the Seagate ST1 Series enables Digitalway’s new MPIO HD400 to hold up to 200 hours of high-quality music. Seagate’s ST1 Series allows consumers to quickly download massive libraries of high-fidelity music and images and incorporates Seagate’s unique RunOn Technology to ensure consistent music playback while in a high-motion environment by sensing and compensating for motion to stay on track. In addition, Seagate’s G-Force Protection technology protects the drive against shock, increasing the robustness of the devices into which it has been integrated. This unique rugged design has changed the playing field for 1-inch hard disc drives, helping music players better withstand the abuse that handheld devices are subject to.
“By choosing the Seagate ST1 Series, we are expanding our product line-up for end users that meet the market expectations,” said Dustin Koh, vice president of Digitalway. “Seagate’s ST1 Series 1-inch hard drive offers the best combination of performance, reliability, battery life and cost that meet our stringent requirements. Moving forward, we will continue to work in close collaboration with Seagate to develop more innovative, leading edge products that our customers have come to expect of us.”
