LITTLE ROCK, AR – February 14, 2008 – The Photonic Component Group, a division of Power Technology, Inc., will now be offering a 705nm red laser diode produced by Opnext.

This new laser diode represents a significant introduction of a new and unique wavelength, as previously, wavelengths between 690nm and 730nm have not been available in a laser diode. This 705nm laser diode is very compact in size, allowing for convenient and efficient use.

Biomedical applications such as blood analysis, light source, and endoscopy can benefit from this infrared laser diode’s wavelength offering, small size, high reliability, low operating current requirement, and high output power.

“We are very pleased to serve as a reseller of Opnext products,” said Walter Burgess, VP of Sales and Engineering. “Opnext continues to produce high quality laser diodes, and the Photonic Component Group is committed to making these products available and accessible.”

The Photonic Component Group, a division of Power Technology, Inc., was established in 2007. The Photonic Component Group serves as a distributor of laser component products for such distinguished companies as Sanyo, Opnext, Eagleyard Photonics, Snake Creek Lasers, and InTopto.
